LJ Hann will be along with the recap, just wanted to get something for the citizenry to vent. BTW, would that pass have been called a backcourt violation or not?? Have not heard a solid answer on it yet.

Thanks LL
I thought about putting a thread up, but I am a little stumped on the recap.
i find myself stuck in continuous skepticism as well, but...
part of the changing of culture here also lies within the fans. it’s starting to even happen with longterm fans like myself and others, when we were up three with the ball, i was actually expecting to win rather than hoping not to lose.
We can't completely blame this one on poor Ryan Gomes...
It’s a combination of a lot of things that the team hasn’t done well that get to that inbound pass at the first place… let’s look at it on the bright side, it’s better to choke now than choke during the playoffs
I’m guess VDN had Gomes inbound to boost his confidence and he had enough faith in Gomes that he’ll make the pass… but I guess it backfired… Gomes is going to take even more crap and he’s going to have nightmares about this years to come…
This guy almost cost us the Philly game too with some stupid inbound pass. The Clippers pay what, $4 million/year for probably the worst inbounder I’ve ever seen…SMH. This ain’t no moral victory!
Damn’t Vinny! Why the hell would we put Gomes in??? Just let Butler in bound the ball! If Vinny makes this mistake again, I hope we get Jerry Sloan next year…
I’m usually against tweeting negative comments to athletes on Twitter, but I’ve never seen someone let down the team so much. Screw it, he’s getting flamed by me! We blew a good game by Foye too!
he and foye brought us back to life, and yet they are the ones everyone wants to trade. I think the more obvious problem is us beating ourselves (bad coaching)
Foye has been playing reasonably well… I was rooting for him to do well because we’ve been giving him and Gomes so much crap… he should’ve gotten the game ball for the hustle play in the end of regulation…
But we can’t get playing god damn catch up every game and relying on Paul to be our savior. He needs to control the game whenever he’s on the floor and he’s been terrible 6 out of 8 quarters these last 2 games and blew a win for us tonight.
Yeah he’s been great overall but we as fans ride emotions game by game, and right now, he’s got to get it together.
Why is Vinny in love with Gomes inbounding a pass in critical moments?
If he wants himin the game fine but have anybody else inbound a pass. Don’t have 1 of the worse players on the team be responsable for a critical play. It’s like the end of a football game the team is trying to run out the clock and the coach puts a 3rd string back in to run out clock and get a 1st down, risk a fumble while the starting back is on the sideline smh.
If everyone is as angry as I am, flame him on Twitter. I usually stay away from it, but seriously, how can you suck so badly? The Clippers probably have the worst In Bounder in the NBA in this guy. I’d rather have Brian Cook in bound the ball…
@GotGomes I’m going after you because I have nothing better to do…
Please show some class and DO NOT make this personal
There was a mistake made, but there were several mistakes made. I would hope that us Clipper fans could support our team, try to discuss the wins and losses objectively, and shy away from childish behavior such as this.
Pinning this on any one player is misguided, and taking it to the next level and flaming the object of your disdain via social media, effectively acting as a cyberbully, is crossing the line, IMHO.
$4 million/year to this guy and he can’t even in bound the ball right??? Technically it’s VDN’s fault for putting him in anyway. The Clippers should be on the Jerry Sloan watch right now…
We can’t just put all the blame on Gomes, CP3 should have dribbled out! also, why didn’t Foye just foul Gary Meal as soon as he stole the pass, would have been two shots only
just asked all the haters to stop following his timeline. I didn’t send a comment specifically to him, just put it out there that he should be happy he has a job in this economy when he is so inept.
Don’t leave out management who should used the amnesty clause to cut him before the season. Last year Gomes was the worst small forward in the NBA, including reserves. Olshey could have used that money to get a better back-up. Gomes is awful and it is clear that he getting worse because of his constant failure, but it is VDN’s fault. Why is ever in on offense in crunch time(if at all). Don’t forget how he lost the Timberwolves game by taking a stupid jump shot with 11 seconds on the clock, which bricked became a long rebound and a fastbreak open for Rubio. That was a game where the Clippers were up 3 and this was the only thing you had to avoid. But why was Gomes in? He’s an actual negative because sometimes he gets the ball. Ryan is reponsible for 20% of our losses(it should be 33% but Paul made a miracle shot) in very limited minute. Can you imagine him being on the floor in Popovich was our coach? It would never happen. If VDN isn’t replaced, Gomes must be released to prevent VDN from playing him
I find no silver lining here. We only have a 1 game cushion in the division standings now. Any weak stretch of games and we’ll be looking up at the Lakers.
is that we came back from 15 down against the hottest and best coached team in the league. We did have the game won. You’re going to lose these games over the course of the season. Time to move on. Our guys are gutsy. They’ll rebound.
With the exception of Brian Cook, I don’t know if there’s anybody who would get flamed more for messing up that pass than Gomes
It is not entirely his fault the Clippers lost this one. Even if he played a big part in the turnover at the end of the regulation, we shouldn’t demoralize a fellow human being for a mistake that anybody could’ve made (4 million/dollars a year or not). The guys who are flaming Gomes are no different than the losers who sent Kyle Williams death threats when the 49ers lose. Please don’t give the world another excuse to hate the Clippers.
Yes, he’s horrible and he has been for the whole season… just don’t let him play in critical situations again… i think he deserves to play in meaningful minutes again unless he can prove us wrong. But don’t flame the poor guy. He already knew he effed up the inbound pass. In the end of the day, it’s one lost and it’s not the end of the world.
As cp3. It was uncharacteristic of someone of his caliber. We just tend to forgive him cuz he brought us back in the 4th. The best way to cope is by forgetting about this game. Never happened
work for good come playoff time. Bad plays happen at the end of games and you just learn from it and get tougher. It’s just more of a let down when the game was seemingly in hand. I see this team growing smarter from games like this.
The way this game ended was just one of those freaky things that happens to to seemingly only the Clippers, but I’ve watched the replay of that inbound pass over and over, and it seems like Gomes must have thought CP would be able to stop before he crossed over to the back court. Thankfully it wasn’t game 6 of a playoff series and the team can turn the experience into a positive later on in the season. Yes it was an early season match up against a team that the Clips are trying to establish an advantage over but the Spurs realize that they were extremely lucky to win this game.
Thanks LL

LJ Hann - February 18, 2012
screw the recap lj,,, this is a game id prefer to forget
Clips had big chance, blew it, off to oakland
big0lbad - February 18, 2012
Still gotta write man
LJ Hann - February 18, 2012
just say
the game never happened. we’d forgive you.
jon y - February 18, 2012
it always takes a game like this to remind me
that these are still the Clippers,,,,, who were those imposters winning all those games?
big0lbad - February 18, 2012
i find myself stuck in continuous skepticism as well, but...
part of the changing of culture here also lies within the fans. it’s starting to even happen with longterm fans like myself and others, when we were up three with the ball, i was actually expecting to win rather than hoping not to lose.
well, this is definitely more painful.

twistedwrister - February 18, 2012
We will choke during the playoffs...
with VDN and Gomes.
82-0 - February 18, 2012
I'm guessing..
I’m guess VDN had Gomes inbound to boost his confidence and he had enough faith in Gomes that he’ll make the pass… but I guess it backfired… Gomes is going to take even more crap and he’s going to have nightmares about this years to come…
twistedwrister - February 18, 2012

JBarney - February 18, 2012
it would be ok if this was the first time but it happen before
KillaClip - February 18, 2012
And it's not just inbounding the ball
He doesn’t do anything particularly well.
SportsChicken - February 18, 2012
Apparently he's "too blessed to be stressed"
I guess all terrible athletes are the same.
…cough…cough…Vernon Wells…cough…cough…
SportsChicken - February 18, 2012
Cut Ryan Gomes. Fire VDN.
82-0 - February 18, 2012
Why didn't Bledsoe get more burn?
His defense was one of the keys to our 3rd quarter run…or am I wrong? Instead Vinny put a cold Mo in who is a sieve on D
JJClipperfan - February 18, 2012
bledsoe had a good game
he and foye brought us back to life, and yet they are the ones everyone wants to trade. I think the more obvious problem is us beating ourselves (bad coaching)
flightofthegriffin - February 18, 2012
Yea.... I feel like Foye..
Foye has been playing reasonably well… I was rooting for him to do well because we’ve been giving him and Gomes so much crap… he should’ve gotten the game ball for the hustle play in the end of regulation…
twistedwrister - February 18, 2012
CP3 should take some of the blame
the dude hasnt played well the past 2 games minus 2 qtrs
big0lbad - February 18, 2012
Didn't CP3
score like 17 points in the 4th?
ClipperChuck - February 18, 2012
Nice for him to show up when it matters
But we can’t get playing god damn catch up every game and relying on Paul to be our savior. He needs to control the game whenever he’s on the floor and he’s been terrible 6 out of 8 quarters these last 2 games and blew a win for us tonight.
Yeah he’s been great overall but we as fans ride emotions game by game, and right now, he’s got to get it together.
dulciusXasperis - February 18, 2012
If we're blaming the stars
Griffin should shoulder some of it.
He became absolutely useless once he was aggressively double-teamed.
SportsChicken - February 18, 2012
i agree that his generally bad games should take more responsibility, but he simply shows up in winning time
somehow our coach puts in an ice cold scrub for the biggest inbound of the game.
this team will not sniff title aspirations with vdn as coach. very simply.
shap - February 19, 2012
Vinny...
Anything we do in the postseason will be despite his coaching. If he hasn’t learned from this…
I seriously hope that Neil looks at all of his options in the offseason.
Lawler 4ever - February 18, 2012
He should be looking at his options NOW.
82-0 - February 18, 2012
I almost puked and then I realized something
once we fire VDN and gomes never touches a ball again we can beat the spurs.
flightofthegriffin - February 18, 2012
Kinda knew something bad would happen when we called timeout
Was just hoping to get to the line up 3 rather than inbound the ball, not something we’re good at.

It’s small of me,but I don’t care..
Rubble44 - February 18, 2012
lmao!!
I signed up a couple days ago to try to convince JR to go to the Clippers.
ClipperBEAST - February 18, 2012
Yes Gomes cannot inbound well but it's Vinny's decision to get him to do that job
Terrible decision by vinny. Unfortunately, we are getting used to these. He’s more of a hindrance than a help.

And having to watch Rashard Lewis play for the whole season lol

I was at the game and wow
We can’t just put all the blame on Gomes, CP3 should have dribbled out! also, why didn’t Foye just foul Gary Meal as soon as he stole the pass, would have been two shots only
Jayq - February 18, 2012 via Android app
In CP3's defense
your first instinct is to try to save it from a back court, not dribble it out, especially with the game on the line.
JBarney - February 18, 2012
there were several things that happened that were wrong
Foye backing up was huge…I’m sure they told him not to give up a 3…but he’s not the sharpest knife in the drawer anyway…
Rubble44 - February 18, 2012
I find it hard to blame Foye
He was probably as shocked by what happened as the rest of us.
SportsChicken - February 18, 2012

I didn't flame Williams
and I’m a 49er Fan. Get off your high horse. Gomes has had ample time to get out of this “slump” he just sucks.

THIS.
