That Marc Engel Story pisses me off.

Just by saying Blake Griffin is their best player, and saying that he can’t close a game, makes him lose all credibility. Um, Chris Paul? Anyone?
We beat em once without Paul, and we almost beat them again. Not sure why we’re such an ideal matchup for them…

Sorry, *Mac Engel
Not including the fact that CP3 was off his game a bit and didn't play his usual

number of minutes

That's true but...

That’s not even the point. The point he was making was that Griffin is not a good enough player and not experienced enough to close out games and match Dirk’s superstar power. Clearly, Paul is at, or at the very least very close to, Dirk’s level.

The Clippers could have taken the game if BG had made his FTs, the Clips had kept

TOs in check and Foye… well you get the point

There's nothing wrong with the article to me

maybe it’s little irritating, but I’m not baffled by what he is saying. I’ll be honest, I skimmed it since I am on my lunch break, but it’s like saying we’re a very talented team, young, good, etc, but because of this, will lose some games because of our inexperience which I see as plausible. Paul is good and he will win us a fair share of close games, but it’s not a Paul team. It’s a Chris Paul/ Blake Griffin team or atleast we’d be looking for these two players usually down the stretch. If Blake Griffin isn’t going to convert his free throws (and not just BG but the Clippers), it becomes such an easy target. I mean DJ? Griffin? Evans? Martin? How safe do you honestly feel with these players at the free throw line in a close game?

Not just that, but the Clippers are inexperienced. Mav’s have been together for awhile. The longest Clipper is DJ, and that’s still not saying much. 2/3 starter came in this year, 1 starter shouldn’t be starting, and 1 starter was a newly converted starter. The chemistry is very new to the team. While our players are bonding, understanding where each players want he ball will take a little more time. Not that we still won’t win on talent alone, but come playoff time, we can’t be as sloppy as we have been in some games, especially against a team like the Mav’s.

Not to mention Mav’s are almost ten deep. Roster: http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/teams/dal/depthchart
What’s surprising to me though is how badly Kidd has been playing.

One more thing to touch.. Griffin is no Dirk, and come crunch time, I would honestly rather Dirk have the ball. Griffin is good in the low post, he’s an amazing dunker, he’s stronger, etc… but comon, Dirk is unstoppable.

Overall, the article wasn’t shocking. He writes in a bit bias way, but it’s not jaw dropping. We’re a good team, but that shouldn’t let allow us to think that we’re unstoppable. Better teams fall to slightly inferior teams, especially come playoffs. It happens. He has his beliefs that the Clippers should be the Mav’s target, and we think otherwise. Shouldn’t be too worked up about it.

who cares what marc engels writes

this team looked better than dallas that day.

So I was listening to 1050 ESPN (NY) to see how the Lin-sanity was going

Then I heard a fan call in and say that Lin > C.Paul for the NY Knicks… because C.Paul was more of a ball hog.

LOLOLOLOLOL

Eh..

Some people forget that a few strings of games doesn’t mean squat. Chris Paul has done it his whole career. Lin barely did it these past 6 games, excluding preseason.

I feel like people are a bit forgetful that Lin is doing well, but by no means that scoring a lot equate to being a better player. Chris Paul is consistent in shot selection, ball handling, passing abilities, and well.. everything. To me, it’s kind of like Rose V Paul. People say Paul is the better true pg, but Rose is the better pg. But why the hell bring up “true pg” vs “scoring pg” in a debate about who is better? Look at the two with no “true v scoring.” It’s ridiculous because they’re playing the same position. I’ve always argued Paul (even before Paul was a Clipper) since scoring much more doesn’t mean he is better, especially since your fg% is much lower.

Jeremy Lin is somewhere between Russell Westbrook and CP3.

(All values are per 36 minutes. Red text signifies the leader, and orange text signifies the first runner up in each category.)

Lin is turnover prone, like Westbrook. He can’t shoot from outside, like Westbrook. He passes the ball much more often, which is like Paul, but he and Westbrook have very high usage rates. It would appear that Lin and Westbrook spend their extra possessions either missing shots (in the case of Westbrook) or turning over the ball (in both cases).

Rose is somewhere in the middle.

Tell that to the people

who say “dawg, you can’t always compare statistics.” : )

I’ve already seen the Paul V Rose stats. Lol.

Waiting for the "J.R. Smith to the Clippers" Article

What a home wrecker!
Quote from Ralph's Twitter:

“Good news from Colorado on Chauncey Billups. Surgery this AM in Vail went well. He’ll recuperate there for 4 weeks and then come to Los Angeles to rehab and help mentor the Clippers into the play-offs.”

Good :)

I'll put 20 bucks on Billups for Coach of the Year!
"Good news..."

I thought Ralph was going to say surgery was successful, Billups available to play tonight. Oh well.

lol

“Gentlemen, we can rebuild him. We have the technology. We have the capability to build the world’s first bionic Achilles tendon. Chauncey Billups will be the first with this tendon. Better than he was before. Better, stronger, faster.”

Went to Barnes & Noble last night

to purchase the SLAM issue of CP & Blake and it was all sold out! Damn these bandwagonners! :P
