It won’t be Chris Paul necessarily that “leads” this team to a turnaround victory, as much as it is the preventing Dallas from penetrating and forcing D.Jordan from having to ditch his man.
Seriously, he is having an off night. Stop bagging on DJ when he doesn’t have some impressive night. He isn’t an elite C, that’s not what we should expect. He still has ways to go, but he is showing steady improvement and he is a great guy in the locker room.
I’m not saying he’s not worth it, I’m saying he’s too overaggressive and an occasional block is not worth the amount of points and offensive rebounds he gives up. He needs to stay at home more so the opposing centers don’t get so many garbage points. And he’s out of position for offensive rebounds.
I like his upside, VDN needs to rein him in a little bit on D.
Let’s be fair. He takes a lot of shots in the 4th quarter; he will have some nights where he makes them and some where he misses. I would still rather have him shoot it than ANYONE else on the court.
For all those people saying Clippers are flop city. Look at Dirk. Caron did stick out his arm, but Dirk flew back. Dirk is fishing for fouls and if you notice, Dirk is a winner. Winners look for fouls.
We are ice cold and CP3 is just… off. We had our chances, we just can’t have Randy Foye missing all of his shots and Blake missing most of his shots (non driving ones that is) whether it be a FT or a mid range shot.
Is it just me, or should every starter not named Butler feel somewhat guilty of this loss?
CP3- Didn’t exactly show up like he should have in the 4th.

when I was 13, and playing my last season with the 14u’s in travel before getting moved to the 17u’s, teams would do this to me. Trap, double, help… I was good, but I also kind of ball hogged unless a good pass was available.
Anyways, once, a team did this exact thing to me, trapping me bout 5 feet beyond the three. One timeout, and my coach drew up a play with one of our bigs flashing to the free throw line. 3 scores in a row, and then the other team was forced to come out of the trap.
Those two KMart/Dirk no-calls were obscene. What, Dirk gets to just tear off the arm of anyone who drives the lane because he’s Dirk? Time to re-form Club FTR!

Clippers shouldn’t take the fine for this game. Realistically, CP3 is the only one who should take the fine without worrying about $$$, but he shouldn’t tarnish his great reputation (even a little bit) for one loss.
But I suppose I didn’t even state what my main point was. CP3, Martin, and VDN are the only ones who I think should say anything. Caron should just keep quiet because he played a solid game and put in a solid effort. BG and DJ have no room to really say much, especially with their lackluster performances in some aspects. DJ has been out of it and Blake missed HUGE FT’s for what was most likely a mental collapse. Martin could say something, but I don’t think he would enjoy being fined on his MLE contract. VDN could say something, but I’m sure he wouldn’t. That leaves CP3 to say something (mostly because he is our leader), but I would rather we just walk away from a tough loss without anyone losing respect around the league.
I have been fine with refs as long as they follow 2 conditions:
1) Throughout most of the game, they keep it fair. If they make one blatantly stupid call, they should make up for it with another call on the other side. The game will always have some bad calls, but they have to make sure they keep things fair, even if it means making 1 bad call into 2.
2) They can’t change the outcome of the game with less than 2 minutes to go. When a key star player just made an obvious foul which should have taken him out of the game and the difference would have been 2 vital points (some can argue it would have been 4) then you have to make the call. This goes for the Laker game yesterday. You don’t call a 5 second rule if it means changing the game completely.
They lost because of turnovers and poor free throw shooting. Clips win rebounding easily. All other stats pretty close. DJ didn’t play his usual minutes, more Kmart?
refs blew it for us. Blake missing FT’s and a ton of turnovers absolutely hurt but refs blowing some late crucial calls killed any chance we had (other than Butler missing a game winning 3).
What the hell happened to DJ? He’s regressed so much it aint even funny. Randy Foye is not a competent SG. JR Smith now please. It’s great that CP comes alive at the end of games, but he needs to be more aggressive early. Blake still sucks at free throws. Hack-a-Blake?! Shameful…Right now I am not happy with a 4-2 road trip. Not like this. Clips should have been 5-1 easy.
6- 0, no one would have expected Cavs to roll us (again), but still got out of jail in another game so 5-1 would have been the best result but 4-2 not too bad.
I check the standings unpdates every morning. I know that this game doesn’t matter so I’m not gonna kill myself if we drop rom 2nd to 3rd or whatever, but I like to look at the big picture… I like our current pace.
This is a tough stretch of games coming up. POR on the road and the Spurs on Saturday. Gotta beat the Wiz and win one of the other 2 to keep up the team’s pace.
It’s so tight in the west that a 3 game losing streak can drop you to the bottom. They have to take the portland game. The way SA has been playing I just don’t expect them to win that one. Although I hope.
The New Orleans Hornets say Eric Gordon will have arthroscopic surgery on his injured right knee on Tuesday and be out at least an additional six weeks.

pretty much
when I was 13, and playing my last season with the 14u’s in travel before getting moved to the 17u’s, teams would do this to me. Trap, double, help… I was good, but I also kind of ball hogged unless a good pass was available.
Anyways, once, a team did this exact thing to me, trapping me bout 5 feet beyond the three. One timeout, and my coach drew up a play with one of our bigs flashing to the free throw line. 3 scores in a row, and then the other team was forced to come out of the trap.

Clippers shouldn’t take the fine for this game. Realistically, CP3 is the only one who should take the fine without worrying about $$$, but he shouldn’t tarnish his great reputation (even a little bit) for one loss.

But I suppose I didn’t even state what my main point was. CP3, Martin, and VDN are the only ones who I think should say anything. Caron should just keep quiet because he played a solid game and put in a solid effort. BG and DJ have no room to really say much, especially with their lackluster performances in some aspects. DJ has been out of it and Blake missed HUGE FT’s for what was most likely a mental collapse. Martin could say something, but I don’t think he would enjoy being fined on his MLE contract. VDN could say something, but I’m sure he wouldn’t. That leaves CP3 to say something (mostly because he is our leader), but I would rather we just walk away from a tough loss without anyone losing respect around the league.

NBA officiating has just been awful lately.
I have been fine with refs as long as they follow 2 conditions:
1) Throughout most of the game, they keep it fair. If they make one blatantly stupid call, they should make up for it with another call on the other side. The game will always have some bad calls, but they have to make sure they keep things fair, even if it means making 1 bad call into 2.
2) They can’t change the outcome of the game with less than 2 minutes to go. When a key star player just made an obvious foul which should have taken him out of the game and the difference would have been 2 vital points (some can argue it would have been 4) then you have to make the call. This goes for the Laker game yesterday. You don’t call a 5 second rule if it means changing the game completely.

They lost because of turnovers and poor free throw shooting. Clips win rebounding easily. All other stats pretty close. DJ didn’t play his usual minutes, more Kmart?

refs blew it for us. Blake missing FT’s and a ton of turnovers absolutely hurt but refs blowing some late crucial calls killed any chance we had (other than Butler missing a game winning 3).

What the hell happened to DJ? He’s regressed so much it aint even funny. Randy Foye is not a competent SG. JR Smith now please. It’s great that CP comes alive at the end of games, but he needs to be more aggressive early. Blake still sucks at free throws. Hack-a-Blake?! Shameful…Right now I am not happy with a 4-2 road trip. Not like this. Clips should have been 5-1 easy.
