Clippers Special Day For Pastors
Is there a special day for all religious leaders including Protestant pastors, Catholic priests, Muslim clerics, Jewish rabbis, Buddhist monks, etc.?
Just asking

I was wondering the same.

Jordan Brand CP3.V Unveiling
Pretty cool report from the unveiling of CP3’s latest shoe yesterday in LA:

How dare they?!

Those jerseys are sweet!
What the hell is a Memphis Tam anyway?

Gotta get me Chris Paul LA Stars jersey!

boltsfan21 - January 6, 2012
Memphis Tams
Old School ABA from the early 70’s. The Tams were a result of the ABA New Orleans Buccanneers moving to Memphis.
PV Mike - January 6, 2012
I've seen a Scottish tam.
But never seen anyone in Memphis wear one. Might as well call themsleves the Memphis Togas!
Thretch - January 6, 2012
Tams
Tennessee, Arkansas, Mississippi for their regional fanbase. Wierd but it was the ABA. The team was owned at the time by the early Oakland A’s owner, Charles Finley.
PV Mike - January 6, 2012
Ahh, thanks for the clarification
So they could have been the Memphis Mats then! That inspires giddy fans.
Thretch - January 6, 2012
Crazy at it seems
The name Tams was picked by a fans voting contest. I know too much about the ABA as it is kind of a basketball history hobby of mine.
PV Mike - January 6, 2012
That's some solid knowledge
So if a team from NorCal were to be created we could call it the NorCal CON’s (Cali – Oregon – Nevada).
I’m going to like this name-the-states-game.
yaggiefresh - January 6, 2012
Jimmy Kimmel worse than Leno
big0lbad - January 6, 2012
yeah, how many times does he have to ask CP about Lakers
’Ok, but really, you still want to be a Laker right? Right Chris?
I love CP’s eye-rolling reactions like cmon Jimmy, get over it im a Clipper and i like it .
When Jimmy asked him about staying with Clips long term he said something like ‘thats what i hope’.
cassellmania - January 6, 2012
Yeah wasn't even worth the watch
at least Leno was kind of bagging on the Lakers as well, Kimmel just wouldn’t let up. If I was CP3 I would never go back to the show.
bestclipfan - January 6, 2012
i love Jimmy, but he sucked last night
used Paul’s appearance as a chance for a personal stand-up act and didn’t even let the guy talk. at least Leno let the interview kinda flow. this was just a non-stop assault. oh well.
Joe Wolf's Mullet - January 6, 2012
Yeah, I usually like Jimmy.
But he was extremely brutal. Chris Paul has proven that he is a great Clipper, and Jimmy has proved that he is a jerk when it comes to being a Laker fan.
SurfinQ00 - January 6, 2012
Honestly, I think things like this will make him avoid the Lakers.
Yes, this is just something small and I’m sure it won’t have a HUGE impact; however, he is obviously getting annoyed with all of the Laker fans. I think he is seeing the entitlement they have felt, and it is obvious he doesn’t like it. Even if the worst happens and he leaves in 2 years, I hope he never even talks to the Lakers, because once he has 1 bad season, all the fans will turn on him and say trade him. Just look at Kobe now. He has a bad night and everyone is considering trading him (and they OVERVALUE HIM WAY TOO MUCH), and then when he has a great night they speak of him as if he is a god. They show no loyalty or respect to their players and that is one thing that treally grinds my gears.
SurfinQ00 - January 6, 2012
The Dime Article Raises An Issue Discussed Here Previously
However he makes one dumb statement and draws one bad conclusion
Dumb Statement
The Raptors currently are
First in opponents FG% at .398
Fifth in opponents eFG% at .450
Sixth in points allowed per game at 91.50
15th in NBA defensive Rating
You don’t compile those kind of defensive numbers (3 or their 6 games have been on the road) with a lousy perimeter defense when your starting Bigs are Andrea Bargnani and Amir Johnson.
Draws One Bad Conclusion
The Clippers defense is better than the Suns and Nuggets was all those years they made the playoffs with bad defenses. Heck even GS made the playoffs one recent season without any defense.
If they Clippers stay healthy it is an almost certainty that they make the playoffs even without improving their defense very much.
Now I am not saying that the Clippers won’t improve their defense. So please don’t read that into my comments here.
Buddahfan - January 6, 2012
I hate those kinds of arguments
If the Clippers suck they will suck.
Yeah, ok.

Erik O - January 6, 2012
I Want To Add
The Raptors are also starting Rasual at SF; at least until Kleiza is ready to start, probably by the end of January.
Buddahfan - January 6, 2012
It's more than that... he completely bashes the Clippers bench...
But points out none of the flaws of the Lakers bench. The Lakers first subs are Steve Blake and Josh McRoberts. And the Lakers fifth starter is Derek Fisher, who can spot up but has no other assets remaining. I don’t get it.
John Raffo - January 6, 2012
Anti Clipper bias is alive and well
To most of the media, the glass is always half empty for the Clips, half full for the Lakers.
No matter how good our roster is people will find a way to make it seem flawed.
cassellmania - January 6, 2012
Seriously
McBob, Murphy, Blake? They are worse defenders than anyone on our bench.
Erik O - January 6, 2012
Looks Like I Spoke To Soon About The Raptors Perimeter Defense
I owe an apology to Sam Reiss.
He appears correct and I feel like a fool. Well certainly not the first time and I am sure it won’t be the last. LOL

I'm not a pastor
But I’m an elder at my church. I remember them having a similar deal like this last year, but I couldn’t take advantage of it due to my schedule. I guess I’ll ask my pastor if he can hook it up.
Triple Towers has a nice ring to it. I was never a real fan of the Lob City name, but I don’t mind it because it means people are talking about the team. I just don’t care for it when people use it as an excuse to say that the team is only about dunks.
Chris McD - January 6, 2012
Players don't like Lob City either.
Even though it was coined by Blake.
PV Mike - January 6, 2012
Yeah. I was referring to one of the articles that stated the players don't like it. :)
Chris McD - January 6, 2012
Sorry I had not read that one.
Just like in school, I took the test without reading the book.

Michael White - January 6, 2012
Jimmy Kimmel and Laker "fans"
Are a joke to me! Always will be a joke. No one takes them seriously and they’re complete idiots. I love how CP3 maintained his cool during the interview and expressed his passion and love to play with the Clippers. Honestly, all this Clipper bashing just adds fire to CP3, Blake and the rest of the Clippers. GO CLIPPERS!!!
Hengtime81 - January 6, 2012
Tracy Morgan was hilarious though
I swear that him and Andrew Bynum are related somehow. Just like Kevin Durant and 50 Cent.
Chris McD - January 6, 2012
Isn't Jimmy Kimmel more like the past Clippers of late night TV?
Compare his ratings to Letterman or Leno. While I think he can he can be pretty funny, in general, he gets 3rd pick behind those other two for A List celebrities.
PV Mike - January 6, 2012
He's more like 4th...
Jimmy Fallon is way better than him!
Hengtime81 - January 6, 2012
?Love puts Fallon at #2 right behind Conan.
yaggiefresh - January 6, 2012
Bleh I can't stand Fallon
But I’ve never liked him since SNL… I actually like Jimmy a lot, but that’s because I’m friends with one of his editors and so I probably have a natural bias. I used to listen to Carolla on the radio, tho, and it’s similar comedy.
For me, it’s:
Conan —> Jimmy —> Letterman —> Leno —> My dad telling me how bridges are made —> Fallon
Erik O - January 6, 2012
Oh snap how did I forget Craig Ferguson... I actually like how he has absolutely no idea what he's doing and just adlibs everything.
Ferguson goes before Letterman in my awesome hierarchy.
Erik O - January 6, 2012
Digging Deep. How about Carson Daly?
PV Mike - January 6, 2012
I will never forgive him for TRL.
Erik O - January 6, 2012
Boom roasted.
For the record, Carson Daly is painful to watch. If I’m able to watch him it’s a daunting reminder that I’ve drank too much and need to sleep.
yaggiefresh - January 6, 2012
Kind of like staring into a toilet bowl then, huh?
I can only imagine…
Erik O - January 6, 2012
I think he looked better when he was a little pudgy on TRL
He is scary skinny.
PV Mike - January 7, 2012
yea I usually like Jimmy too
and do understand he’s a big Lakers fan, so sometimes fans get irrational, and effected his performance last night. I used to watch Leno, and as a car guy, still like him. His show is pretty boring these days though, and after the conan fiasco, haven’t really watched him since (CP3 interview notwithstanding).
Definitely COCO = #1
osamu - January 6, 2012
Your dad needs to step up his bridge-telling game.
I love The Roots so as long as they’re on Fallon I’ll watch.
yaggiefresh - January 6, 2012
I wonder if there's a way to mute Fallon without muting his band...
Erik O - January 6, 2012
We could just buy their album.
yaggiefresh - January 6, 2012
pure genius
I watched a few clips of them playing with artist on Fallon… truly great band
BelgianClipper - January 6, 2012
I forgot about...
Conan! He’s the best.
Hengtime81 - January 6, 2012
Yeah
That interview was absolutely infuriating. It would’ve been nice if he let CP talk more, or if he actually asked some real questions instead of just “So when are you ditching the Clippers for the Lakers?”
2-ScoopIceCream - January 6, 2012
That's all they got...
Laker “fans” can’t talk about current basketball season. IF you try to talk some kind of basketball with them, they’ll just reply: 1) “We have 16 championships” 2) “Look at our banners, do you have any banners?”
JOKE!
Hengtime81 - January 6, 2012
Plus,
Kimmel didn’t even acknowledge—or give CP the chance to point out—that the Clippers were moving up before he got there, and that he was happy to go there BECAUSE of what they already had. All Kimmel said was that CP was going to a miserable team to lift it out of the dung-pile, when in reality they had BG, and DJ and Caron already.
There are lots of good Lakers fans out there, but I’m not convinced Kimmel is one of them.
2-ScoopIceCream - January 6, 2012
I think Kimmel was just trying to get laughs
His humor is dry and sarcastic… it’s a lot funnier when you’re not the butt of the joke. I probably won’t watch this interview.
Erik O - January 6, 2012
Seriously!
What Clipper fan is dumb enough to try and compete with who has the better franchise? We know the Lakers are the better franchise. But are they a better team this year? I don’t really think so.
Erik O - January 6, 2012
I get it at work all the time now
The whole, Just remember who has the rings! rhetoric.
yaggiefresh - January 6, 2012
I always rebute
that they are hiding behind the past because they can’t out argue me.
LJ Hann - January 6, 2012
That's my point...
They can’t even have a decent conversation about the NBA. It’s always about them, but they make themselves look like idiots.
Hengtime81 - January 6, 2012
I'm getting annoyed with all those Clippers-bashing articles
wait 20 games and judge then.
BelgianClipper - January 6, 2012
I want that throwback jersey!
Erik O - January 6, 2012
If you ask any freebie website
Dime Magazine is the most given out prominent magazine.
Dime deserves to be free because it is so bad.
Slam Magazine, however, gives respect to the Clippers. I remember reading a couple months a go on an update on Livingstons injury and had that nice cover on Blake Griffin last season. They are a very respectable publication.
agolden - January 6, 2012
Yes
SLAM >>>>>>> Dime
Erik O - January 6, 2012
Hell yes!
Slam can even make EJ look Gangsta.
PV Mike - January 6, 2012
How many takes did that cover take?
I’m convinced it was photoshopped.
yaggiefresh - January 6, 2012
Kimmel is a toolbag dickface
Ricekrispy10 - January 6, 2012

great insult
Erik O - January 6, 2012
Um that's just an opinion
You’re going to have to back that up with facts. Establish a criteria for “toolbag dickface” and then establish examples of him surpassing that criteria.
;)
Thretch - January 6, 2012
Hahaha yesss
We at CN treat all debates the same, regardless of the topic.
I think first to establish what a “toolbag dickface” is, we can begin with some examples of previously identified “toolbag dickfaces”:

Ricekrispy10 - January 6, 2012 via mobile
I feel bad for EJ
I hoped he would have a healthy season under all circumstances. I would hate to see his development delay because of this. Strange thing is, he never had any kind of knee problem with us. Anyone know know the cause?
Pawn - January 6, 2012
Knee collision with G. Hill his first game w/ NO
was the cause of him missing a couple of games. He probably came back prematurely.
cliptakular - January 6, 2012
from yesterday but..
Max and Dave Miller have an interesting conversation about the Clippers (no “its the Clippers” talk)
AtotheZ - January 6, 2012
Thanks
i listen on a daily basis, but probably missed this conversation. oh yeah…dave miller is annoying. love max though!
clipseshow - January 6, 2012

He has no bias other than who pays him (710 = broadcast for the Lakers)

a bunch of bandwagoners. i wouldn’t pay much attention to their banter.
what i noticed, however, is how professional cp3 is. classy dude.

this
LJ Hann - January 6, 2012
Although it is early on in the season-
Clippers have proven to be a much more versatile team on offense and defense compared to the Lakers. The Lakers have proven that they NEED Kobe to score 25+ in order to compete and about 30 (on high percentage shooting) to win. While Bynum has proven to be a tough guard and a solid defender, they don’t realize one thing, the Lakers can only play at their pace/ style, while the Clippers can change it up. Let’s take some of the past games for example, most notably Blazers. The Lakers played the game at their pace, yet they were unable to make defensive changes. Aldridge pretty much did whatever he wanted too and Wallace capitalized on their inability to defend him. The Lakers did NOTHING to adjust on offense OR on defense. They tried to play a slow game, and that didn’t work out. Next came the Warriors. The Warriors were playing a stellar game even without Curry, but the Lakers pulled off the win ONLY because Kobe had a MONSTER night. I would say that any other night, the Lakers would have lost it. Why? They have nobody to run on defense, and they can’t FORCE the other team to play at their pace, especially when they are pretty sloppy on both sides.
All in all, I believe that the Lakers have a strong defensive team and offensive team, but they are so reliant on things to fall into place during EVERY night. They need Kobe to show up with massive points, Bynum to pull down 12+ rebounds, and they need the other team to fall into the trap of playing the Lakers’ game. The Clippers on the otherhand, can adjust on defense while play a slower or quicker offense.
SurfinQ00 - January 6, 2012
grrrrr
The whole time I watched that clip I wanted to choke Jimmy K. out.
That being said, I need to buy a new jersey. Last one I bought was literally 10 years ago when I was in high school. Any good places?
